Free Gift Card Rating System

I like to overdeliver. This site is filled helpful hints, tricks, and tips for keeping rude surprises to a minimum. It is also filled with free gift card offers. But on top of that I provide you with a rating of each gift card offer.

The rating system is a 5 Star system (no half stars yet) with 3 stars being average. The initial offer rating is based on a mathematical formula. Refinements are based on user feedback.

Initial Gift Card Offer Rating

I'm an aerospace engineer by training. So I've decided to take my years worth of math and apply them here. The initial offer rating uses the number Silver, Gold, and Platinum offers in combination with the gift card offer's dollar amount to determine an average dollar amount for a given set of program requirements.

The initial rating is based on a Least Squares fit of the program requirements to the dollar amount. This requires that I assume that the Silver, Gold, and Platinum offers are all roughly the same between sponsors. (My free gift card offer research for the tutorial suggests this assumption is dead on.)

Gift Card Rating Refinements

Rating refinements are based entirely on user feedback. I will gladly consider any feedback you provide with regard to an offer. If the sponsors were rude, I want to know. If the gift card came late, I want to know. If the program requirements were unclear, I want to know.
